Process Criteria:

Process Criteria is another element of the Internet Detective. This criterion is used to determine web site and information integrity. Process Criteria comes in handy when evaluating sites that need timely maintenance to prevent out of date information. Rashomon Café purpose is to entertain its readers, not to keep them informed of specific timely information as CNN or NBC might do. Because of this, the need for timely updates isn't necessary. However, the need for stable backend infrastructure is necessary. The Flash movie is 600KB, which is a large file to download at one time if the user is on a dial-up connection. Flash does have some streaming capabilities, but a 600KB file would take a toll on almost any server if it became popular enough. As I mentioned in the Form Criteria section, Rashomon Café is hosted on OnTheRail.com's servers, and it's safe to say that they can manage the bandwidth problems that arise with such a large file. OnTheRail.com does supply contact information for both Tatu and their own webmasters if a user is having difficulties accessing the movie.
Information integrity is the second element in the criterion. Like site integrity, information integrity isn't questioned. The information is most likely fictional and has no other purpose than entertaining its readers. Because of its nature, the information is durable and maintenance of the information is only required if the author decides to change something about the story or plot.
